| I took this image of a Golden Rocket Frog (Anomaloglossus beebei) at Kaieteur Falls in Guyana. Our tour guide told us that it was used by local Amerindians to make poison darts for hunting, so I kept my distance. It turns out I didn't have much to worry about. Apparently this particular species does not emit toxins from its skin. Instead its insides are boiled to produce the poison. The Golden Frog found in Colombia has enough toxin in its skin to kill several men. |
